The Omani Commission for Human Rights represented by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Shuwain Al Hosani, Chairman of the Commission with the National Documents and Archives Authority, represented by His Excellency Dr. Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Dweiyani, Chairman of the Athority, approved the classification and scheduling system for the retention of private documents.
The classification system has been approved in several stages, the latest of which is the final approval by the National Documents and Archives Authority of the Commission’s schedules and classification system, in compliance with the requirements of the National Documents and Archives Act issued by Royal Decree No. 60/2007. During the last period, the exchange of field visits between the two sides, the follow-up of the administrative divisions of the Committee and the preparation of a nominal list of the types of documents and the private files, resulting in the completion of the procedural tools of preparing extended schedules Privacy Stbaka documents and classification system.
These procedural tools are the mainstay of building a modern system according to the latest international standards and standards adopted in this field based on the recording, classification and coding of the documents according to the classification system prepared for this purpose to distinguish them and facilitate referencing them. This system can also be built and implemented in document processing since its inception Which will help to legalize all the processes of destruction and the transfer and deportation of documents on the one hand and respect the duration of retention on the other hand.
With the entry into force of this system, the Documentation Section of the Omani Commission for Human Rights, in coordination with the National Documentation and Archives Authority, will train the staff of the Commission on ways to implement the document management system tools.
